NMS (the company I work at) had president’s day off, so of course, what did I do, but spend the whole darn time in front of one computer or another.
Thankfully, something came of it besides the realization that you can’t get a tan from LCD monitors (though I shall keep trying). A new version of AudioFaucet was born over the weekend. Mostly some bug fixes, and there will likely be another version shortly on its tail thanks to the help of some of our users.
You can check out the release notes for info on what has changed. We’re looking forward to getting some new features in future builds, but one of these days I’m going to have to get a full night’s sleep

oh for the love of pete can the internets stop whining about series 3′s not shipping!
we’ve waited a few years — a week or two won’t kill us. i know its exciting, but…there are still cable cards to wrangle out of the sweaty palms of our cable providers.
speaking of the televisions — i watched the premiere of studio 60 on the sunset strip. the writing is great — its like listening to a David Mammet script — you can just tell its not the run of the mill writing. of course, after the speech that opened the show, i almost felt guilty for having the tv on at all.
i also watched prison break, the class, the CSI Miami premiere and weeds. The class has some great characters — the over the top humor of the characters is good. the SUPER-CANNED laughter is bad, and most of the jokes are fall pretty flat. It could be the new “friends”, but I’m not sure anyone really wants that. The characters’ eccentricities are appealing, but it feels a little hackneyed. Maybe it will pick up after the “these are the people in your neighborhood” introduction episode.
CSI Miami was solid–always a pleasure to watch in HD, if only for the vibrant colors, and amazing shots. Caine crosse some surprising lines I didn’t think his character would, and yet manages to do so with as little affect as ever. Mostly all just devices to clean up after last year’s finale. Solid CSI; getting a little tiring however. Weeds is spiraling into complete absurdity. And yet, its still fun to watch Mary-Louise Parker. The actors are great, but their ability to make up for a script which seems written so each can deliver perfect one-liners is waning. The first season, with the death of Nancy’s husband had a kind of desperation and overtone of pathos this season lacks. That, and the complete uprooting of any basis in reality. It still fun to watch, but the story offers so little other than a vehicle for performances, its skip-able, and after the Studio 60 speech, I felt guilty watching it.
Studio 60 is definitely the standout. Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford are amazing to watch together. Hopefully the premise isn’t too thin to stay standing.
